Kate Summer

Kate’s PhD research investigates the use of marine molluscs as sources of human medicines. She is specifically focused on the identification of novel antimicrobial proteins and peptides (AMPs) from hemolymph of Sydney Rock Oyster, Saccostrea glomerata, targeting respiratory pathogens. Her recent work explores the relationship between environmental health and bioactivity of AMPs.  She is also interested in scientific drawing!
